Our Mission
The NJ LEO Jiu Jitsu Foundation is a nonprofit (501c3) collective of law enforcement officers (LEOs) dedicated to improving safety, resilience, and community trust through regular training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).
BJJ has some obvious on-the-job benefits for LEOs such as reducing injuries to officers and members of the public in situations where the use of force is necessary. Perhaps less obvious are the ways in which regular training can provide camaraderie in a stressful, demanding profession, improve confidence and purpose, be a proven tool for resiliency, and increase networking across departments.
Since 2021 we have worked to create a network that’s proactive, not just reactive. Because officers shouldn’t need to be in crisis in order to receive support.—sometimes they just need/want something more to get through the job.
Discere Pugnare — Learn to Fight.
Not just on the mat, but in life.
